MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Web Application Software Engineer to join our team.
The Web Application Software Engineer will leverage their strong technical background and knowledge to design, develop, and integrate web-based applications supporting tactical situational awareness and mission operations. You will build user-facing and service-based web applications that integrate with the TAK ecosystem to provide real-time data access, visualization, and decision support.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Designing, developing, and maintaining web applications supporting the TAK ecosystem while implementing TAK standards and integration patterns.
Developing front-end components using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks alongside back-end services and APIs.
Integrating applications with TAK servers, APIs, and external data sources to enable real-time and near-real-time data visualization.
Developing applications that function in degraded, denied, intermittent, and limited (D-DIL) environments while optimizing for low bandwidth.
Implementing application-level controls aligned to DoD Zero Trust Strategy and NIST SP 800-207 to enforce identity-based access control.
Working with all stakeholders to ensure complete and functioning systems that meet VAULTIS principles for data visibility and accessibility.
Supporting continuous integration and deployment pipelines while applying Agile methodologies to deliver mission capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience in web or application development.
Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern web frameworks.
Experience with backend programming languages such as Java, Python, or similar.
Experience integrating with APIs and both SQL and NoSQL databases.
Experience with version control using Git and containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
Experience with TAK or similar tactical systems within a large team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting USSOCOM / SOF, DoD, or Intelligence Community environments.
Experience developing TAK applications or plugins and real-time data processing.
Familiarity with DoD Data Strategy (VAULTIS) and DoDI 8320 data sharing standards.
Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility is preferred.
Clearance Requirements:
Active Secret clearance is required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
The projected compensation range for this position is $137,100.00-$244,100.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
