MANTECH seeks a motivated, career-driven, and customer-focused Systems Engineer to join our team in Laurel, MD.
You will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global, mission-focused workforce. This position supports the high-visibility Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, responsible for the delivery and security of MPO’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), the foundation for enterprise-wide services. As a Systems Engineer, you will work alongside customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to support the implementation and compliance of advanced EIT capabilities through Data Center & Computer Services.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- OpenStack Utility Cloud: Design, deploy, and maintain multi-tenant enterprise OpenStack platforms
- Architect High Availability topologies to eliminate single points of failure
- Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible and Puppet
- Automation scripts and tools in Python and Bash
- Database support using MySQL
- Engineer and harden enterprise Linux systems; enforce identity and access management (IAM) frameworks grounded in least-privilege principles.
- Utilize Naemon and diagnostic tooling to execute systemic performance analysis and proactively address health degraded states.
- Executing Return-to-Service (RTS) protocols to minimize downtime during critical incidents.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline with 14+ years of relevant experience as a Systems Engineer OR 19 years of Systems Engineering experience with no degree.
- IAM II certification (DoD 8140 required upon start of employment. Acceptable certifications include
CCNA-Security/CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/SSCP) - Red Hat versions 8 and 9
- Experience with Grafana
- Python development language
- Experience with Naemon
- Familiarity with Pagent and Putty
Preferred Qualifications:
- MachineShop experience
- Hypervisor virtual machine experience
- Understanding of Return-to-Service (RTS) protocols
Clearance Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
The projected compensation range for this position is $128,000.00-$214,400.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
