MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team in Wallops Island, VA. This is an onsite position.
This role is part of the Test and Evaluation (T&E) of the Aegis Weapons System, providing technical and engineering support for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Evaluate system-level requirements; write test cases, scenarios, and test procedures to fully validate system capabilities; and execute test procedures
Perform data analysis and generate concise trouble reports that enable system developers and subject matter experts to understand, recreate, and characterize the impact of identified problems on overall system capabilities
Work seamlessly within a multi-contractor/government integrated test team. Support government test directors with backup data, research, and analysis to justify test findings and software certification recommendations
Operate a console during test events, including configuring Data Links and establishing Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) Network Operations
Utilize test articles to visually verify that system requirements are met and manage data recording for troubleshooting and root-cause analysis when requirements fail
Ability to travel up to 20% (primarily to Moorestown, NJ)
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma with 4+ years of experience with either Aegis Combat System, or Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) Combat System, including interfacing sensors and ship systems
3+ years of experience with Tactical Data Links (Link-11 and Link-16)
3+ years of experience with Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC)
Working knowledge in the operations of the following sub-modes: Tactical Information Coordinator (TIC), Identification Supervisor (IDS), or Radar Systems Supervisor (RSS)
3+ years of recent experience with development or operational real time Naval tactical programs, ex., Aegis or Littoral Combat System (LCS)
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science is highly preferred
Experience with Next Generation Simulation (NGS) or other military simulation tools
Clearance Requirements:
Must have current and active Secret security clearance
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
