MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented RESEARCH ANALYST to join our team in QUANTICO, VA

The research analyst will research, assess and create products related to specific CG MCWL/Director, FD designated topic(s), including rigorously analyzing and synthesizing global patterns and trends relevant to the Marine Corps to outline plausible future security environments. The analysis will examine emerging warfighting challenges to identify risks and opportunities 10 to 30 years in the future.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review documents and conduct research and communicate with external partners at the TS/SCI, SAP, CAP, STO, ACCM levels across all warfighting functional areas with an emphasis on the topics of cyberspace operations, maneuver, protection, and/or intelligence.

  • Conduct independent research and analysis of national and international forecasts, social, technological, economic, environmental, political, informational, and military topics of potential strategic significance to the Nation, DOD, and the Marine Corps to prepare authoritative, publishable articles, commentaries, assessments, and staff products.

  • Plan, conduct, and/or participate in academic forums such as seminars, conferences, and workshops locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.

  • Interact with senior military officers and government civilians and advising government Project Officers on related research topics.

  • Provide support to develop information briefings, reports, plans, and recommendations for DOTMLPF changes to combat capabilities, warfighting concepts, experimentation, wargaming, and science and technology investments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of professional experience with demonstrated skills in MAGTF operations, to include experience in Joint, Combined and inter-agency operations.

  • Professional experience conducting in-depth research, complete and definitive analysis, and thorough review and documentation of analytical findings, courses of action, and conclusions.

  • Proven capability to think, analyze, and write clearly and concisely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of an advanced degree (master’s or higher) in one of these or similar fields: National Security Affairs, International Relations, Engineering, Sciences, Economics, History, Mathematics or another related field and/or a minimum of 5 years of experience in Futures-related work and structured analytic techniques to include experience in preparing, coordinating, organizing, drafting, writing, editing, and sourcing futures-related major documents which have been formally published by a Department of Defense office or agency.

  • Possess expert knowledge of capabilities and operating methods of potential adversaries, allies, and other Services.

  • Knowledge of Marine Corps warfighting concepts, current Marine Corps Force Design, and associated Navy, Joint, and Department of Defense (DOD) capabilities development processes.

  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of combat development or defense acquisition.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with ability to be granted access to SAP, CAP, STO, ACCM levels

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
