MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Range Management Liaison to join our Air Force / Space team at Hill AFB.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct advanced mathematical and geospatial assessments of weapon trajectories, blast radii, and energy dispersion. Design, develop, and generate Weapon Danger Zone (WDZ) and Weapons Engagement Zone (WEZ) geospatial files and map overlays depicting exact hazard footprints integrated with specific range terrain data.
  • Develop and maintain geospatial methodologies to establish authorized launch/release parameters, terrain restrictions, and operational criteria for participating aviation and ground platforms.
  • Produce, update, and manage complex range terrain databases, ensuring high spatial and attribute integrity for classified weapon ballistics and system capabilities.
  • Serve as the primary technical GIS advisor to coordinate geospatial footprint data between test units, aircrews, engineering stakeholders, and ground forces to establish operational parameters before mission execution.
  • Compile and prioritize complex spatial analytical data to lead, produce, and brief comprehensive technical packages for formal range approval boards.
  • Utilize programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) to automate weapon footprint modeling, accelerating timeline deliveries for Range Command and Unit Commanders.
  • Perform post-mission spatial analysis within 14 days of execution to compare modeled footprints against actual telemetry and weapon performance data to refine future predictive GIS models. Ensure all geospatial modeling methodologies strictly align with overarching DoD/DoW operational range directives (e.g., DA PAM 385-63, AFI 13-212).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in range operational analysis, weapons testing, or mission planning involving kinetic and non-kinetic effects heavily reliant on geospatial technologies.
  • High proficiency with enterprise GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, QGIS) and remote sensing applications.
  • Deep familiarity with specialized DoD/DoW weapons footprinting software and toolkits (e.g., WDZ, WEZ toolkits).
  • Proficiency with programming/scripting languages (such as Python or SQL) utilized for automating geospatial data processing, database management, and modeling tasks.
  • Proven ability to compile complex spatial analytical data and brief technical packages to formal review boards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geospatial Science, Geography, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Direct experience supporting the 53d Wing or similar Air Force testing and evaluation environments.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active Secret Clearance
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance if required
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information
  • Willingness to submit to a Polygraph if requested

Physical Requirements:
