MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Personnel Security Specialist II to join our team in El Segundo, CA.

The Personnel Security Specialist II will provide essential support to the U.S. Space Force Space Access program managed by the Space Systems Command. You will play a vital role in ensuring mission success by managing personnel security activities, processing clearance requests, and maintaining security education programs for both Government and Contractor personnel.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting personnel security activities including clearance verifications, visit requests, access badging, and entry access lists via the Defense Information Security System (DISS).

  • Managing the security clearance request process using DISS and National Background Investigation Services (NBIS), including the review of submitted request packages.

  • Assisting the Government in the management of the SCI billeting process and maintaining comprehensive personnel security files for the supported element.

  • Providing support for security awareness and education programs, including indoctrinations, debriefs, and refresher training regarding the protection of classified information and CUI.

  • Reviewing, tracking, and monitoring security clearance processing activities using Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP) to achieve appropriate clearance actions.

  • Building and maintaining complex tracking spreadsheets and databases for administrative functions and extensive customer contact listings.

  • Coordinating efforts across various government entities to support Program Protection, OPSEC, INFOSEC, and Physical Security functions as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2+ years of related experience.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience specifically supporting Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environments.

  • Must be familiar with security policy manuals, including appropriate ICDs, JAFANs, and DoD Manuals.

  • Experience utilizing DISS, NBIS, and e-QIP to manage and track personnel security investigations and access eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) DoD 5220.22-M.

  • Completion of Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) training or related DISS certification.

  • DSS Facility Security Officer (FSO) or Special Security Officer (SSO) certifications and training.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) for data tracking and presentation.

Clearance Requirements:

  • An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required prior to hire.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $75,500.00-$125,600.00.
