Description & Requirements
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Naval Architect to join our team on a Part-time on-call (PTOC) basis working fully remotely. This position is expected to work approximately 10 hours per week.
The Naval Architect in this position will support a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) assessment of an Air Cushion Vehicle (ACV) and its propulsion system.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research
Provides expert consultation in one or more areas for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems
Provide Subject Matter Expertise in the areas of ACV propulsion, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, and Computational Fluid Dynamics
Advises on Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis execution including, model setup, load case development, and post-processing
Works collaboratively with project team, including other engineers and program managers
Independently manages task requirements and work execution timelines through development of Plans of Actions with Milestones (POAMs)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, naval architecture, structural design, or a related technical field
10+ years of experience in naval architecture
5+ years of experience with computational fluid dynamics
Direct experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis of Air Cushion Vehicle
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current or active United States Government Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
The projected compensation range for this position is $137,100.00-$244,100.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
