MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented MODELING & SIMULATION DEVELOPER to join our team in QUANTICO, VA.
Join a high-impact team supporting the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab's transition to digital wargaming. As a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Developer, you will serve as a trusted advisor to our customers, ensuring the technical architecture of wargames is robust and reliable while directly shaping the tools used to prepare Marines for the future fight.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Execute technical tasks for Data Collection and Analysis Plans (DCAP) by writing custom scripts to automate the extraction and structuring of raw simulation data into actionable formats required by the analysis team.
Build new models to represent emerging or conceptual capabilities and refine existing models to meet specific wargame design requirements and ensures models are implemented correctly within the simulation framework.
Translate conceptual scenario designs into functional, executable scenarios within advanced simulation platforms (e.g., AFSIM) and operate simulation clients during execution.
Serve as the technical expert for building and customizing simulation environments, conducting operational tests of models and tools to refine gameplay and effectiveness.
Ensure wargame architectures are robust and capable of generating high-fidelity data while maintaining technical archive databases for current and future models.
Maintains hands-on proficiency with government -provided M&S software (e.g., AFSIM), analog wargame design tools, and other technologies integrated into the wargaming process.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college and 7 years of wargaming modeling and simulation experience.
Hands-on experience with Modeling & Simulation frameworks (e.g., AFSIM, Command Professional Edition and additional M&S platforms) and database management.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex conceptual designs into functional technical architectures and executable scenarios.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced experience with government-provided M&S software and analog wargame design tools.
Understanding of Marine Corps operational concepts and future force design constructs.
Proven track record working in integrated teams of military, civilian, and contractor personnel to deliver analytical results.
Clearance Requirements:
Must have a current/active TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain SAP
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers via email, phone, and/or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
