MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Marine Gas Turbine Inspector (MGTI) Trainer to join our Readiness Assistance Training Team (RATT) in San Diego, CA. This is an onsite position.
RATT supports Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMNAVSURFPAC) and conducts Sailor-centric deck plate training, material review, management program auditing, and naval readiness support on ships in port to improve overall Sailor proficiency and material readiness.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide classroom and deckplate, on-the-job training to Sailors on proper and safe operations, maintenance, and management of Marine Gas Turbine Engines and associated systems onboard ships inport homeported in San Diego, Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, and Japan
Conduct comprehensive material condition assessments, review, and assess combat systems programs and preventive and corrective maintenance procedures
Making a positive difference and impact on thousands of Sailors in the Pacific Fleet
Travel up to 25% of the time in support of shipboard training, to include international travel
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent education
20+ years of supervisory level watchstanding experience on warships or military auxiliaries with gas turbine main propulsion, responsible for overall propulsion plant operations and associated control and auxiliary systems
7+ years of experience conducting marine gas turbine inspections on surface warships or military auxiliaries with qualifications and certifications as, or equivalent to, a Navy Marine Gas Turbine Inspector
Direct operational and maintenance experience, within the last 5 years, with gas turbine main propulsion, gas turbine generators, associated control systems, and associated auxiliaries currently in use by the Navy
Experience as Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW) on multiple Gas Turbine ships
Multiple tours as a US Navy Marine Gas Turbine Inspector familiar with Navy surface ship maintenance processes
Must possess a valid passport or be able to obtain within 90 days of employment
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active secret security clearance
Physical Requirements:
Must communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations
Must be able to maneuver on deckplates aboard ships in port, to include ascending and descending ladders as necessary
The projected compensation range for this position is $77,200.00-$128,800.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
