MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Manufacturing & Quality Engineer to join our team in Patuxent River, MD. This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days onsite.

The Manufacturing & Quality Engineer will leverage their technical background to support the M&QE Division by assisting in production facility stand-up and managing manufacturing efforts through all acquisition phases. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid work environment with duties performed at Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the stand-up of production facilities for the PMA-242 program while collaborating with the M&Q Engineering Lead

  • Conducting quality research and data analysis to establish M&QE requirements and managing capacity analysis to examine for system scalability

  • Evaluating supplier facilities and contractor manufacturing plans to ensure producibility considerations are integrated into the systems engineering process

  • Preparing technical risk assessments and related briefings for decision-making meetings and program stakeholders

  • Planning and leading manufacturing risk reduction efforts, including Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs) and Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs)

  • Identifying the root causes of manufacturing, producibility, or quality problems and recommending technical solutions via briefings or written correspondence

  • Supporting various technical reviews and audits, such as Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), Quality System Evaluations (QSEs), and Engineering Investigations (EIs)

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% to alternative sites as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a Technical or Scientific field

  • 3+ years of recent and relevant manufacturing and/or quality engineering experience

  • Experience conducting quality research and data analysis to improve manufacturing products and capabilities

  • Experience working across teams to drive a quality agenda within a complex environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An Industrial Engineering background is highly desired

  • Specialized skills in Manufacturing and Quality (M&Q) processes

  • Experience navigating NAVAIR’s acquisition processes or similar government environments

  • Self-starter with excellent people skills and the ability to drive change throughout an organization

Clearance Requirements:

  • US Citizen and an active DoD Secret security clearance is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $77,200.00-$128,800.00.
