MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented IT Systems Engineer to join or team in Chantilly, VA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing server/operating system centric knowledge for testing, deploying, integrating, and improving upon new and existing IT capabilities.
Assisting with recommendations related to understanding operating system dependencies, physical and virtual server environments, integration with infrastructure resources (e.g. storage and networking), and how to configure operating systems and applications in an efficient manner.
Maintaining platforms of common hypervisors and enterprise applications, including collaboration tools, Systems Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM) products, directory services, and automation technologies.
Identifying security vulnerabilities, testing and documenting security-relevant changes, and communicating with vendors to assess new technologies.
Ability to travel domestically.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in information technology, leveraging software applications and tools to meet customer requirements.
In lieu of a Bachelor’s: Associates’ degree and 7+ years of relevant experience in information technology, leveraging software applications and tools to meet customer requirements.
Current DoD 8570 IAT II certification (Security +, SSCP, or equivalent) or ability to obtain one within 180 days.
Experience writing clear, concise, and user-friendly technical and training manuals or similar documentation to include documents required for A&A IAW ICD 503.
Experience in Windows administration, active directory administration.
Experience in administrative scripting languages.
Experience with integration, deployment, troubleshooting and maintenance of operating systems in a multi domain environment.
Knowledge and experience with Virtual Infrastructure technologies.
Experience in all components of Windows and Linux system infrastructure.
Experience in Local Area Network/Wide Area Network technologies, routers, switches, firewalls; experience with Storage Area Network (SAN), clustering and backup technologies.
Experience and proficiency with systems engineering concepts, principles and theories and system modeling tools.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or other IT-related discipline.
Clearance Requirements:
Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/Polygraph.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
