MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented COGNITIVE SCIENTIST to join our team in STAFFORD, VA. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the collection and interpretation of neurocognitive data, including EEG/fNIRs, while remaining up to date on innovations in neuroscience and cognitive performance.

  • Translate cognitive insights into performance-improvement strategies and delivering cognitive enhancement training sessions for client programs.

  • Assist in the writing and development of Institutional Review Board (IRB) documents and maintaining required documentation libraries.

  • Manage complex data flows and performing data management using R, Python, or other common analytical tools.

  • Work with management, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure complete and functioning systems that meet all requirements.

  • Recommend and implement process and policy improvements to enhance cognitive health and performance protocols

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. with 5+ years of post-degree experience, or an M.S. with 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in Neuroscience, Sports Psychology, or a related field.

  • Extensive background in collecting, analyzing, and reporting EEG/fNIRS data within an athletics or military setting.

  • Experience working across a large team to drive a security and performance agenda for complex, intertwined systems

  • Advanced statistical analysis ability and experience creating and communicating complex technical documentation.

  • Knowledge of interventions in the cognitive health and performance space, including nutritional and supplementation strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications in psychology or cognitive performance, such as CMPC or BCIA HRV.

  • Experience with primary risk, compliance, and cognitive automation tools.

  • Self-starter with excellent people skills who is able to work across teams and drive change throughout an organization

Clearance Requirements:

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance

Physical Requirements:

Must be able and willing to perform occasional manual labor and warehouse duties, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
