MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Acoustics Trial Director to join our team in Silverdale, WA. This is an onsite position.
Provide critical engineering, technical, and programmatic support to the U.S. Navy’s Acoustic Signature Trials Engineering Support contract.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Plans and conducts acquisition and analysis of at-sea acoustic evaluations.
Must be able to lead a team to completion of analysis and reporting of at-sea results and recommendations.
Guides cross-functional teams during at-sea acoustic evaluations, manage data quality in real-time, interpret real-time instrumentation readings, and present remediation methodologies to senior Navy stakeholders
Direct responsibility for the comprehensive lifecycle—including scheduling, logistical coordination, detailed technical planning, execution, and demobilization—of full-scale submarine and surface ship signature trials under programs like the Submarine Acoustic Signature Maintenance Program (SASMP).
Ensure data quality in real time and uses personal judgment to determine the best path forward as evaluation’s objectives change
Write technical reports that identify emergent issues and work with team members to present recommendations for remediation
This position requires up to 25% travel
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Engineering
Previous Officer of the Deck (OOD) underway or equivalent experience
3+ years of hands-on, demonstrated experience with navigation or piloting safety working with U.S. Uniformed Services ships
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with both submarine and surface ship acoustics
Understanding of acoustic measurement systems, in-water measurement arrays, the interfacing of hardware and the development of software
Established track record of project management of system development and integration
Demonstrated track-record of project management and successful task completion to include coordinating U.S. Navy ship operations with a test and evaluation program agenda
Security Clearance Requirements:
Must have a current and active Secret Security Clearance
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl. May have to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.
Work in confined spaces and challenging environments, as required for submarine underway operations, maintenance and repair.
The projected compensation range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,100.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
